Campus allocation

Throughout your first two years as a Hull York Medical School student, you will be based at your allocated campus – the University of Hull or the University of York – and from Year 3 of the Medicine programme onwards, mainly off-site at your placement locations.

Introduction

Two universities: Same exceptional curriculum

When you receive your offer to study with us, you will be allocated a home campus of either the University of Hull or the University of York, where you will be based for the first two years of your programme.

Campuses are allocated to offer holders by a random allocation process.

Both campuses offer a vibrant student experience and a supportive environment in which to study and live. You will follow the same curriculum and obtain the same level of expertise and skills from academics, clinicians, and tutors.

In Years 3, 4 and 5, as you will be undertaking longer clinical placements, your learning continues at our hospital sites. You will rotate around our clinical sites across our region, which may include Hull, York, Scarborough, Northallerton, Middlesbrough, Scunthorpe, and Grimsby.

Currently, students in Years 3 to 5 are expected to maintain accommodation in their home campus city (Hull or York) throughout the programme, but are provided with NHS accommodation for any placement away from their home campus.
