Welcome to Hull York Medical School, the joint medical school of the Universities of Hull and York.

We are one of the UK’s most exciting, contemporary schools, delivering innovative and rigorous medical education and research.

Since we were established in 2003, we have been inspiring future medical professionals with the research, skills and knowledge they need to deliver brilliant healthcare.

Through our unique partnership with the Universities of Hull and York, NHS Trust providers and community healthcare providers across the region, we offer exceptional medical education – centred on problem based learning, clinical and communication skills and early and sustained clinical exposure.

As the joint medical school of the Universities of Hull and York, we are based on their respective campuses which are only around 35 miles apart. Both offer a vibrant student experience across their distinctive campuses, enriched by a diverse student population.

Studying Medicine in the UK

Number of places

We currently offer up to 11 places for international students to study our Medicine programme each year.

You must be aged 18 or over on the 1 October in the year you enrol on to the programme. Unfortunately, we are unable to accept deferred applications from international students.

We have welcomed applicants from across the world including: France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Ireland, Poland, Latvia, Lithuania, Romania, Luxembourg, Spain, Malta, USA, Canada, Singapore, Jordan, UAE, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Kenya, Nigeria, Brazil, Hong Kong and Jamaica.
