Wolfson Palliative Care Research Centre

About our research

We generate new knowledge in the following areas:

  • Addressing under-researched symptoms and problems
  • Reducing inequalities in palliative care outcomes, improving access and optimising delivery
  • Informing and improving palliative care services and outcomes in low and middle-income countries
  • Measuring individual and service-level palliative care outcomes
  • Researching the social and psychological aspects of palliative care
  • Advancing education and research on implementation of palliative care evidence into policy and practice

We have extensive expertise in research methods as applied to advanced illness and palliative care, with particular emphasis on research among those with non-cancer conditions, policy research, outcome measurement in advanced illness, and implementation science.

We are inclusive and collaborative in our approach to research, both in relation to developing and operating our research teams and partnerships, and in recruiting participants into our research. We follow the NIHR equality, diversity and inclusion priorities and guidance.
