Committed to inspiring future doctors

Here at Hull York Medical School, we are committed to raising aspirations, supporting young people's choices and encouraging progression into medicine and other medical careers.

We offer a range of talks and workshops for local students in years 7-13 to inspire students to find out more about a career in medicine and offer them an insight into studying medicine at Hull York.

We offer a blended programme of activity with both online and in person provision.

Summer School

Problem Based Learning workshop

Strong communication and problem-solving skills are crucial for delivering exceptional, patient-centred care, which is why we make problem-based learning (PBL) the core of our curriculum.

Suitable for Year 12s, in this session your students will be guided through a PBL case with our medical students to support them.

Talks

MediCafé

MediCafé is our comprehensive webinar series, designed to empower aspiring medical students on their journey to university. Talks cover every aspect of pursuing a career in Medicine and will equip your pupils with the knowledge and skills they need to confidently pursue an application to study Medicine.

Anyone can book a place on MediCafé. Students, teachers, parents and carers are welcome.
