I am working with the Institute for Mental Health Research at York and the ESRC Vulnerability and Policing Futures Research Centre (VPRC) focusing on mental health and wellbeing within the police workforce.
I join University of York from Surrey University, where I was continuing to research police involvement in Mental Health Act detention; a topic I started working on at University of Brighton, as well as women's experiences of food in prison. I have also worked on continuity of access to physical and mental healthcare for people moving through the criminal justice system. In addition to academia, I have worked in the probation service and as a prison primary care mental-health practitioner.
