It is with great sadness that we report the sudden passing of our dear friend and colleague, Dr Menos Lagopoulos. Menos was an amazing teacher and leading anatomist.

He was one of the founding academic staff of Hull York Medical School and he led the delivery of anatomy teaching from the inception of the School in 2003 up to his retirement in 2010. He has left a significant and indelible mark on all of us. Students and colleagues alike remember him above all as a kind, generous, and humorous man - always ready with a joke to lift your spirits and support you through difficult times. Menos will be sorely missed but fondly remembered by the thousands of doctors and colleagues that he taught, mentored and supported throughout the years.

Memorial Tribute

A special memorial website has been created at  https://menoslagopoulos.muchloved.com/ . This site is a tribute to Menos and is for all of Menos's family, friends and colleagues to remember him, share stories and come together to celebrate the wonderful life he had. We would encourage you all to share your memories, thoughts and tales, light a candle or simply come and visit this commemoration of the man we all loved and admired so very, very much.

Fundraising and Flowers

Menos was passionate about teaching and his life was dedicated to getting the best out of his students. His family have set up a fundraising page in his memory in aid of BMA Charities Trust Fund “Helping doctors – past, present and future”, so please do visit this and contribute if you wish.

The family have also requested that, instead of flowers, you would follow the donation link from the tribute website above (or by visiting directly https://gofund.me/82439611 ). Thank you in advance for your contribution to this cause that would mean so much to Menos and for continuing to honour his legacy in this way.
