The new-look Hull York Medical School website

We’re proud to announce the launch of our new website.

Healthcare is evolving rapidly and there is a need for healthcare professionals to work in different ways with different skills. Since the School was established in 2003 it has been inspiring future medical professionals. Over the last few years, we have been working with students, staff and stakeholders to better understand our core values and those things that make us who we are. We believe we are a different kind of medical school producing a different kind of graduate, one with the knowledge and skills needed to deliver brilliant healthcare.

Our new website has been developed to showcase our strengths and reflect our brand positioning: a different kind of medical school. It has been designed to reflect our new visual brand which we will be launching next week.

We know that making the website better than before is not simply about giving it a new design, but understanding what you as the visitor need. We did this by looking at what you said you expect from the website, analysing numerous analytics and carrying out focus groups. We produced our first concepts and tested these with current and prospective students, refining them along the way before launching our beta website.

We first launched the website in beta so we could get your feedback – visitors were prompted to take part in a survey when visiting the website. Your feedback helped us to see how we’ve done and where we could make more improvements, before the new website went live.

What’s in the new website?

The new website boasts a clean design and intuitive and consistent site-wide navigation to help you find your way around with ease. It is also fully responsive with mobile devices, making it easy to navigate on a wide range of web browsers and devices.

We’ve introduced a range of new content to the website, including a clear message of who we are and our fantastic breadth of partnerships with NHS Trusts and community organisations across the region – partnerships that enable us to remain abreast of workforce needs and provide a breadth of early and sustained clinical experience for our students, so they can deliver brilliant healthcare.

We’ve also boosted our information for prospective Medicine students, providing clear and easy to understand information about studying with us - including details of the fantastic opportunities to tailor your experience during your studies.

What happens next?

We will continue to develop and improve the website, including adding video content, to provide you with all of the information you need to find out what it is like to study, work, research and collaborate with us.
