HYMS postgraduate conference showcases leading research
15 June 2017
Sixth annual Postgraduate Research Conference
On 8 June, Hull York Medical School hosted its sixth annual Postgraduate Research Conference at the University of Hull.
The event, which took place at the Allam lecture theatre and Derwent exhibition space, brought together postgraduate students from across the school to share their research with a wider audience, and provided a chance to meet other researchers within and beyond their field of study. This year’s inspiring keynote address on Learning from Famous People was delivered by Professor Henry Leese, while postgraduate students delivered a wide range of poster, oral and three-minute thesis presentations.
Prizes were awarded by Professor Una Macleod, Dean of Hull York Medical School, to Sandrine Verpoorten for best oral presentation, Peggy Sfyri for best poster presentation, and Jaime Bolzern for best three-minute thesis presentation.
The title of HYMS Postgraduate Researcher of the Year was awarded to Carl Marincowitz.
The organisers would like to thank everyone who submitted an abstract, attended the event, and helped to make the conference a big success.
