Steven Oliver graduated in medicine from Nottingham University and subsequently trained as a public health doctor. He moved to join Hull York Medical School from the Department of Social Medicine in Bristol where he was a clinical lecturer with research interests in both aetiological epidemiology and health services research. His current major research interests are in factors including adult diet which may influence the development and progression of prostate cancer. Steven Oliver has taught epidemiology and public health in Newcastle and Bristol and is now leading on population health and medicine within the Hull York Medical School curriculum.
