Mike’s role is to coordinate and project manage clinical trials and research in the field of heart failure and has been the national coordinator for two large clinical trials (WATCH; HEART UK) and coordinated many smaller clinical trials. His role includes costing research applications; advising on ethical and governance processes; writing and submission of applications to Research Ethics Committees and resultant publications; to contribute to the development of new research projects and teams.
Mike also chairs the faculty’s Trial Managers' Forum, a regular forum for staff involved in the setting up and running clinical trials at the University of Hull.
He is also the CCMR University and College’s Union representative and an officer of the University of Hull’s branch of UCU.
