Angela is a Lecturer in wound healing.

Biography

After graduating from University of Leeds 2001, Angela undertook a training position at a clinical medical microbiology laboratory whilst completing an MSc in biomedical science specialising in medical microbiology.

During her time as a registered specialist biomedical scientist, Angela became interested in the role of research in clinical microbiology, biofilms and chronic wounds, subsequently completing a PhD in 2011 at the University of Manchester within these themes. From 2011 to 2018 Angela was involved in a range of post-doctoral research at the University of Manchester and the University of Leeds; partnering with academia, industry and clinicians to examine and explore chronic wound infections, biofilms and patient/practice pathways.

Research

Dr Angela Oates research interests focus on microbiology, biofilms & treatment of complex wounds and the translation of research into practice.
