Currently working on CANAssess cRCT Feasibility trial of Cancer Needs Assessment Tool in order to

reduce inequality in care for people with cancer and palliative care needs

Dr. Amoakwa is an experienced Primary Care Researcher working with the SEDA Research Group Hull York Medical School . Prior to this he was a research scientist at North Wales Clinical School Department of Primary Care and Public Health Cardiff School of Medicine. Dr. Amoakwa’s main research interests are: optimising the role of Primary Care in lung cancer follow-up care, developing physical activity intervention for hip and knee pain, randomised controlled trials and economic evaluation of physical activity interventions.He models epidemics using WHO data and is particularly interested in spatial epidemiology of HIV/AIDS.  Dr Amoakwa holds a PhD degree from The University of Manchester and is currently working on feasibility trial of Needs Assessment Tool in order to reduce inequality in care for people with cancer and palliative care needs. Dr Amoakwa has many years of experience in teaching, research and consultancy.

Conducting  cluster randomised controlled trial(cRCT) to test the routine use of NAT:PD-C ( a new needss assessment tool in primary care to reduce unmet patients and caregiver needs. The CANAssess  project is funded by Yorkshire Cancer Research

This project was funded by the Welsh Assembly Government developing exercise intervention for osteoarthritis patients(hip and Knee)
