Vice Chancellor's Awards for Dr Laura Fitton and Dr Andy Kardasz

We are delighted to announce that HYMS staff members Dr Laura Fitton and Dr Andy Kardasz have been recognised for their exceptional contribution to teaching in this year’s University of York Vice Chancellor’s Teaching Awards.

Dr Laura Fitton was recognised for the positive impact she has made since joining HYMS in 2011 across a wide range of teaching activities, and to the ongoing development and enhancement of the Centre for Anatomical and Human Sciences. Her clear focus on the quality of the student experience and constant efforts to innovate and improve teaching have made her a true asset to both HYMS and the University of York.

Dr Andy Kardasz was recognised for his sustained hard work and effort over many years in HYMS, and in particular his creative approach to teaching student support. Andy was appointed to the University of York in 2003, joining HYMS in the critical months before the arrival of the first cohort of medical students, and since then has played a central role for both students and staff.
