Some 180 GPs and advanced nurse practitioners from across the HYMS region attended York's inaugural version of the Royal College of General Practitioners (RCGP) accredited GP Update Course.
Organised and hosted by HYMS, the event took place on Saturday 18 October at the Ron Cooke Hub, University of York, and was supported by three local Clinical Commissioning Groups (Vale of York, East Riding of Yorkshire and Scarborough and Ryedale).
One delegates said: “It's a great opportunity to catch up with colleagues while at the same time updating on the latest clinical evidence”.
The GP Update Course is designed to be relevant to clinical practice and help GPs meet the requirements for revalidation. Using a lecture-based format, with plenty of time for interaction, the GP presenters discuss the results of the most important new evidence and guidance needed to stay up-to-date.
The course is designed for established GPs and trainers, GP ST1, 2 and 3, GPs returning from maternity leave or a career break and practice nurses and nurse practitioners.
The next GP Update event will be hosted at the University of Hull on Sat 18th April. For details of this and other upcoming GP CPD events please see http://www.hyms.ac.uk/postgraduate/other-courses/short-courses-and-cpd
